This is my personal collection of album artwork. The great majority of what you see here has been scanned from CD inserts from my own CD collection, with an occasional LP sleeve scan thrown in. A few of the images provided here started with online sources like Amazon.com and the iTunes Store, which I subsequently edited to improve image quality.
I'm fussy about album artwork. It's easy to find a lot of the same artwork I have here elsewhere online, but often the quality is terrible: Small low-resolution images, heavily compressed with lots of visible JPEG artifacts. Bad colors and poor contrast. Excessive cropping. Heavy-handed artificial sharpness. Dust specs, scratches, creases, and scuffs. Crooked, misaligned scans. Scans where it looks someone didn't even take the trouble to pull a CD insert out of its jewel case, or didn't even bother to remove shrink wrap from a CD, before slapping the artwork onto a scanner.
As this artwork here is (so far) only from music in my own personal music library, it's a small and quirky collection, hardly comprehensive. Only to the extent that you happen to like some of the same music that I do will you be likely to find particular artwork that you're looking for here. In the future, if I see enough interest in this collection, I might consider adding a mechanism so that others can submit their own artwork for addition to the collection. If I start taking submissions, you can expect me to be picky about what I'll accept. :)
This artwork is provided for others who, like me, enjoy not only listening to music, but seeing the artwork which goes along with that music at the same time. I'm providing these images to help legitimate owners of the associated music, not to help music pirates. If you like the music you're listening to, you should pay for it before worrying about dressing it up with pretty pictures.
None of this artwork belongs to me — all copyrights belong to the appropriate record labels and artists. Nearly all of what is available here can be found elsewhere online, at websites such as Amazon.com, Buy.com, and Walmart.com, or can be automatically downloaded using iTunes, the main difference being that most of the artwork here is at 600×600 resolution, and has been scanned and edited in Photoshop with a strong emphasis on high image quality.
